Elvis Presley is most famous for his popular rock music and dance moves, but did you know that he also had a very successful movie career? He launched his acting career in 1956 with a popular musical western film called "Love Me Tender." This first movie was not favored by critics, but many fans showed up to the box office to ensure the success of the film.

Later, Elvis starred in "Jailhouse Rock" in which he choreographed his own dance that is widely considered his best dancing on film. He also appeared in the movies "King Creole" and "Charro!," again attaining success thanks to high fan turn-out.

After he returned from the Army, Elvis appeared in a number of movies, including "Blue Hawaii," "Viva Las Vegas," Tickle Me" and "The Trouble With Girls." Each movie featured a soundtrack, leading to a string of hit songs including "Viva Las Vegas" and "Can't Help Falling in Love".

To promote these movies, several posters were produced and distributed all over the United States. Avid fans collected these posters, often paying top dollar for them. The posters were especially popular with high school girls, who would plaster them up on their bedroom walls and hang them in their lockers.
