Marilyn Monroe embodied a sense of glamor and beauty which remains unparalleled in the twentieth century. Born Norma Jeane in 1926 she lived a shattered childhood moving between various foster homes and orphanages. She emerged from her traumatic past with an alluring beauty that eventually landed Norma Jeane her first acting role.

In 1946 she inked her very first contract signing on with Twentieth Century Fox. Shortly there after she transformed into the blonde bombshell the world now knows as Marilyn Monroe.

During the late forties and into the fifties she obtained many small roles and cameos but the movie "Niagara" in 1953 was the role that launched her into stardom. Following this breakout, she starred in the iconic films "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" and, "How to Marry a Millionaire." Notably, she later earned a golden globe for her comedic role in the 1959 smash hit "Some Like it Hot".

As with so many larger than life personalities, she met an early death at the age of 36. Nearly fifty years later she is still an icon of beauty and style. Rarely does the relevance of celebrities carry over into different eras as hers does. Her image continues to grace the walls of bedrooms, offices, studios, even salons. These many years later her splendor and magnificence is still emulated in film and print, even in every day life. Marilyn continues to prove indispensable to the modern world. Her images will remain the most recognizable snapshots of the twentieth century and will never go out of style.
